Business web pages can be broken down into two main categories. One is a relatively simple site for a business who needs a professional web presence. This category of site typically allows customers to find and contact a business, do some research about the organization, and explore that group's services. It may include company news and the ability to download additional information.
While this type of site can contain a lot of information and some limited eCommerce, it is defined as an extension of your business and not your actual business.
While the first category used a web site as an extension of a business, the second literally is the business. Full eCommerce sites are one major example of this category. This type of site is defined by customer action on that site, with the majority of business operations and revenue a direct result of the web site.
